Cloudreach further strengthens its investment in security
LONDON (February 18th, 2019) – Cloudreach,a global, cloud-native services provider, has announced that it has increased its investment in security and risk management. Cloudreach has partnered with AI-based cybersecurity solutions provider, Cylance, and has earnt the Cyber Essentials Certification, SOC 2 Compliance and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), to ensure it can support its customers’ security needs.
There are many benefits that can come from moving to the cloud. Many Cloudreach customers see it as an opportunity to save costs and increase agility. There is also the ability to innovate and instantly derive value from new technologies and services. Whilst these seem to be the most common advantages, several customers actually do so to strengthen their security and risk management processes. This is why Cloudreach has accelerated its investment in this area over the past year.
Security remains high on the agenda for many IT decision makers. A survey carried out by Gartner in 2018 looked into information security buyer purchasing preferences. It found 51% of respondents identified risk as their primary purchasing motivator, with 31% linking business-related concerns like complying with compliance mandates and improving risk management. With clear demand in the market to address these concerns, Cloudreach has committed to investing in security, risk management and demonstrating compliance.
Cloudreach earned the Cyber Essentials Certification and SOC 2 compliance in 2018. The Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed, scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats, whilst SOC 2 is a globally recognised certification that demonstrates a service provider’s controls assurance related to data security and availability.
In January 2019, Cloudreach also announced it became compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). PCI DSS is an information security standard that aims to enhance payment account security and prevent credit card fraud.
Whilst Cloudreach does not currently store or process customer cardholder data, many of its customers do. As a service provider and trusted partner to its customers, PCI DSS provides peace of mind that Cloudreach’s processes and networks are on par with the highest industry standards.
Additionally, Cloudreach updated its Cloud Core managed services offering to include industry-leading endpoint protection, by partnering with CylanceProtect Software.
Cloudreach’s Cloud Core is a managed service that ensures the availability and accessibility of customer environments. The addition of CylancePROTECT means that Cloudreach can better manage its customers’ security functions, using monitoring and alerting technology to keep their environments running securely and reliably on a 24/7 basis.
By complying with globally recognised standards and nurturing partnerships with leading security companies like Cylance, Cloudreach is demonstrating its commitment to managing risk and investing in security best practices as it continues its path of rapid, yet sustainable growth.
“As a recognised leader in the public cloud MSP industry, Cloudreach has to meet or exceed the security standards of our customers, many of whom are in highly regulated or security-conscious industries,” says Chris Opat, Head of Operations at Cloudreach. “I could not be more proud of the accomplishments of our Security Operations team. To gain or renew this many industry accreditations in one year clearly shows the commitment to operating our customer environments in a safe and compliant manner.”
Cloudreach’s growth and burgeoning reputation have been recognised in a recently published Market Note from IDC, The Rise of Cloudreach — Challenging the Status Quo of IT Service Delivery.
