The Challenge

This company has grown exponentially in the past five years. To support its ongoing growth, it planned to reduce its data center footprint and migrate to the cloud. It was faced with a short timeframe to exit its data center, limited in-house cloud expertise and legacy and shadow IT.

The Solution

Since the mortgage lender uses the Microsoft stack across its enterprise services, moving to Azure was the obvious choice.

Cloudreach conducted a Cloudamize assessment across the entire estate, comprising approximately 500 servers. Performance and usage metrics were used to estimate the TCO for migrating to Azure.
We then combined the Cloudamize data with application information gathered through surveys, interviews, and workshops to develop a custom migration plan.

Cloudreach leveraged proven best practices to build a new Azure landing zone and migrate all applications and servers to the cloud. Our team went above and beyond the scope of application migration, including problem-solving Express Route limitations, Workspot (VDI) integrations, and StorSimple migration.

The Outcome

By engaging Cloudreach and relying on our cloud migration and Azure expertise, the mortgage lender was able to successfully exit its data center by the required deadline, substantially reducing annual data center costs by 36%. It is now equipped to support its future business growth with optimal, scalable Azure architecture.
