The customer was looking to support its customer base as it continues to grow significantly following the staycation surge prompted by Covid 19 travel restrictions. Over 1.8 million people around the world have holidayed via the platform so far in 2021. The customer was looking to prioritise a cloud migration and modernise their customer online service to support demand and envisaged growth.
Cloudreach’s engagement consisted of a full business case to get a better understanding of the customer’s needs and help build out a roadmap including the benefits and costs of migrating the customer’s stack to GCP. After the business case Cloudreach conducted a project kick-off, discovery, migration plan & readiness as well as the migration itself. As part of this, Cloudreach provided knowledge transfer through a collaborative ‘build with’ approach.
With the customer now implementing best-in-class technology, it gives them access to a plethora of new services, helping them to manage volatility and position them for growth. The migration to Google Cloud improved and optimised the customer’s infrastructure for enhanced agility, efficiency and scalability. Most importantly, the migration also has a significant impact in reducing customer’s carbon footprint, meaning that customers booking through the platform are making more sustainable travel choices from the moment they book.
The customer is the market-leading online booking site for campsites, glamping sites and caravan parks. They have over 5,500 sites available to book in 67 countries throughout Europe, the Americas, Australia and Africa.
