The Challenge
This insurance provider’s legacy data center infrastructure had become obsolete and was constraining its ability to grow and innovate. Inspired by its parent company, it sought to migrate business-critical applications to the cloud.

The Solution
Liberty Seguros Colombia engaged with AWS Professional Services and Cloudreach, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner and multiple AWS Competencies holder to help reskill its teams and migrate 50 applications to AWS.
To develop hands-on experience, build repeatable processes, automate infrastructure code and optimize application code deployment, 10 pilot applications were initially migrated. Cloudreach conducted technical training sessions and provided real-time demonstrations and ongoing support. Most of the architecture on AWS is written as code.
The architecture that Cloudreach created takes advantage of a range of AWS services. Today, Liberty Seguros Colombia is focused on transitioning to a fully serverless architecture.

The Outcome
A total of 47 business applications were migrated to AWS. Some apps were re-hosted with incremental configuration changes to deploy on AWS and others were no longer required or replaced by AWS services – helping to reduce overall infrastructure costs.
The company has realized dramatic improvements in system performance, data uploading and infrastructure deployment time and is now able to use automation in news ways throughout its infrastructure.

“We gained so many new capabilities from our work with AWS Professional Services and Cloudreach, and we’re building products with newfound confidence. We have enjoyed this journey with Cloudreach and AWS.”
