The Challenge

Disparate data was preventing the company from being able to make timely, informed business decisions. It needed to process and transform a large amount of data in just three months and build a data lake platform, and lacked the in-house technical expertise to do so.

The Solution

Based on our deep data expertise and leadership, the company engaged Cloudreach to develop a robust and scalable future-ready data platform.

To fulfill the company’s big data needs, our cloud data architect drove the vision and coordinated the efforts of many smaller data groups within the organization. Data was structured into a production-ready state and on-premises processes and files were moved through the Azure Data Lake Storage Gen 2.

Our data engineer auto-provisioned an Azure Data Lake environment and created an ETL pipeline on Microsoft Azure to ingest, process, store and serve data. The data was normalized and placed into Azure SQL Data Warehouse and a semantic layer in Azure SQL database was created for internal and external reporting through Tableau.

The Outcome

Cloudreach worked as an extension of the FinTech’s team to meet tight deadlines, even as additional data sources were added.

The company is now able to utilize data stored in its data lake and the user-friendly portal allows its data experts to leverage their skill sets of the on-premises Microsoft BI stack.

The FinTech continues to consolidate data from new sources – with a template to streamline ingestion – to drive insights from customer-facing systems.
