Dufry has experienced rapid growth in recent years, including the acquisition of several companies. As a result of IT environments being merged, it was increasingly difficult for the company to maintain visibility of costs, especially for its cloud resources.
Dufry wanted to set up a cost/profit calculator process to structure its existing cloud resources, and sought the ability to provide reports and cost optimization recommendations to management on a regular basis.
Cloudreach onboarded Dufry to our Infrastructure Reliability managed services offering, including Cost Reliability. With our expertise around billing and pricing models offered by cloud service providers, a reliable toolset and a team of financial experts, we developed tagging policies that helped us uncover unused and unnecessary cloud resources.
Cloudreach delivers a monthly cost report to Dufry on current cloud spend and deviations from the previous month. The report also includes a separate section with cost optimization recommendations for the company’s AWS infrastructure.
Dufry now has clear visibility of AWS cloud spend and a deeper understanding of how individual resources impact costs. For example, our Cost Reliability service identified a 50% spike in spending over a three-month period for a cloud storage service and ultimately reduced costs by 66%.
Cloudreach continues to work with Dufry to ensure its AWS infrastructure is optimized for cost, security, reliability, availability, and scale.
