On Monday July 11th, Cloudreach welcomed its first India-based Talent Academy cohort! This exciting milestone marks not only the expansion of the Cloudreach Talent Academy program expanding into a new region, but also deepens our partnership with Generation India, an organization designed to transform education and employment systems to prepare, place, and support people in life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible. This new cohort is also significant for Generation India as it’s the first “cloud” program they have partnered with and can help bring more students into STEM programs.
Among the India cohort are Ashwini Borkar, S.Ghanesh Karthick, Shabana Bellary and Sohan Sheri, all now Associate Cloud Systems Developers at Cloudreach. In this particular cohort, all 20 members have previously participated in AWS reStart, a full-time, classroom-based skills development, and training program that prepares individuals for careers in the cloud. Because the team has already completed the essential training through reStart, we’re shortening the curriculum and adapting the training and learning style to include more gamification. We’re excited to continue to support AWS reStart by helping its graduates begin their careers in cloud computing.
“India is a very competitive market for talent and hugely important for us to expand our skills in the region. From the start, partnering with AWS reStart and Generation was critical for us to make this ambition a reality. The work Generation does with under-represented talent is absolutely inspiring. I couldn’t be happier with the end result, this cohort brings a wealth of knowledge and diversity of thought to our community. Our Pune office this week is buzzing with energy and excitement.” – Poonam Flammarion, Head of Talent Academy
Cloudreach has hired a new Talent Academy manager, dedicated to managing and supporting the cohort in this region to ensure the success of every member. The training team has traveled to India to kick off the in-person training and the leadership team is traveling to India to meet with the cohort and officially welcome them to the team. In September, Cloudreach will host a graduation ceremony to honor the cohort.
