Why is cloud strategy important?

Cloud strategy

It’s important for enterprises to plan and think strategically when adopting the cloud.

Cloud adoption is a journey that will impact the whole organisation and is likely to take a number of years, so there are a few things to consider at each stage of the journey.

For example, in the early stages you should look at the business drivers and value proposition of cloud adoption and what this will mean for you in the long term, and focus on getting the right foundations in place. We advise starting with a meaningful application or MVP, as this will give credibility within the rest of the organisation once that application is successfully running in the cloud and you can build from there.

Cloud strategy also allows you to place a financial framework around cloud adoption, which enables cost prediction and financial optimisation of multiple public clouds.

We have a number of Cloud Strategists at Cloudreach, who are on hand to assist customers with their journey to the cloud. Our Strategists have all previously worked at C-Level for enterprises that have gone through cloud adoption and encountered the challenges that come with it.

Watch Dave Chapman and Jeremy Ward, two of our London-based Cloud Strategists, answer some questions on cloud strategy, security and multi-cloud in the video below.
