Seth, tell us a bit about your role at Cloudreach.

As a Cloud Sales Executive, I’m constantly learning about the challenges organizations are facing. My role is to help them solve those challenges and deliver value around improving operational efficiency, increasing business agility, accelerating innovation, and risk mitigation.

What’s your favorite part about being a Cloud Sales Executive?

Interacting with customers and prospects every day. Sales Executives are the face and brand of Cloudreach to our most important asset, our clients.

If you could summarize your sales style in 3 words, what would they be?

Reliable. Motivated. Persistent.

Describe the typical sales cycle at Cloudreach.

It starts with understanding the customer’s needs and challenges. Because we’ve been in the cloud space for 10 years and solved many customer challenges, we can leverage that previous knowledge to build the foundation of a solution. No two customers are alike, so there is typically customization built into the solution to match the customer’s needs. Once we find the perfect solution, we discuss with the customer how we can deliver.

We are very excited to launch our new evolved values! One of our core values is “Wow your Customer” which connects closely to all the work you and your team do. Can you explain what “wow your customer” means to you?

It means going above and beyond for your customer. It means understanding their business as well as they do or better! When the conversations are focused on improving their business and satisfying their customers, that’s where the value comes in. “Wow your customer” happens every day when you’re at the table having these conversations.

Why is it important for Cloudreach to live this value?

It is the lifeblood of our business. Customers are at the center of everything Cloudreach does as an organization. Without our customers, there is no Cloudreach. If we do not understand their business, help them address their challenges, and focus on where they want to be, then “wow your customer” isn’t taking place.

What’s the most exciting part about working in the Cloud business?

Rapid change. The amount of new services the major cloud providers release daily, weekly, monthly is astounding. These new services allow us as the Cloud Expert to create new solutions with our customers to solve their business problems.

What impact do you believe Cloudreach has had on the Tech industry?

It’s had a global impact on the Tech industry. Cloudreach has accelerated the adoption of public cloud for enterprises across the major public cloud providers. As we all know, the growth of these cloud providers has been nothing short of tremendous. That growth has been accelerated by strong partners like Cloudreach.

Before working at Cloudreach, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Working for Coach. Yes, the handbag company. It was interesting how many women would come to me specifically (as a male) for advice on a particular handbag/style.

If you could be stuck in an elevator with one person, who would it be and why?

James Blake. As an avid tennis player, I grew up watching Blake play. It wasn’t just the fact that he was the highest ranked American tennis player at one point, but how he got there. He could have gone pro early, but decided education was important and got his degree from Harvard! In the middle of his career in 2004, he broke his neck, lost his father to cancer, and developed Shingles which paralyzed half his face. Despite all this, he won Comeback Player of the Year and continued his passion of playing tennis at a very high level. He’s an inspiration on and off the court.

How do you strike a work/life balance?

I usually take 2 vacations a year with my wife to new place(s). This year we went to see the Baltic Capitals and spent 3 days in Russia in May. We also spent a week in the Southern Caribbean visiting Islands like Barbados and St. Lucia.
